Formlabs, a maker of 3D printing technology, announced it has acquired VC-backed Pinshape for an undisclosed price. Vancouver, British Columbia-based Pinshape, which provides a 3D printer community, had raised $825,000 in seed-stage funding from 500 Startups, DeNA, ChinaRock Capital Management and 500 Startups co-founder Dave McClure, according to its AngelList profile. The acquisition is the first for Formlabs, which is backed by DFJ Growth, Innovation Endeavors and Pitango Venture Capital.
