A91 in India closes second fund

The venture firm, spun out of Sequoia, raises $550m.

A91 Partners has placed a final close on its second fund, A91 Emerging Fund II, at $550 million. The fund surpasses its predecessor, A91 Emerging Fund I, by nearly $20 million. That vehicle closed at $351 million in 2019.

The capital raised for Fund II will primarily invest in 15 to 17 established companies in India. These include such sectors as consumer goods and services, financial services, healthcare and technology.

A91 Partners spun out of Sequoia Capital and was established in 2018.
