Andreessen Horowitz raises $9bn for three funds

The Menlo Park, California-based asset manager has held a final close on separate funds for growth, venture and bio.

Andreessen Horowitz has held the final close on three funds, raising $9 billion in capital commitments, according to a press release.

Andreessen Horowitz Growth III has raised $5 billion, the venture vehicle Fund VIII has raised $2.5 billion and AH Bio Fund IV has raised $1.5 billion. Capital raised will be invested across stages.

In November, Venture Capital Journal ranked the firm, often called a16z, as the fourth largest venture investor worldwide, having raised more than $11 billion in funds for the five-year period ended June 30.
