Columbus, Ohio-based Bold Penguin, a commercial insurance technology provider, has raised $32 million in Series B funding. The investors included Hudson Structured Capital Management Ltd., Lightstone, Guggenheim Insurance and Lockton.
San Francisco-based YUR, a virtual reality fitness company and community, has raised $1.1 million in funding. The Venture Reality Fund and BoostVC led the round.
UAVenture Capital has invested in CarboShield Inc, a developer of a way to strengthen thousands of aging steel, concrete and wood bridges. Also, the Tucson, Arizona-based venture firm has invested in Medicarbone Inc, the patent holder of a flexible carbon fiber fabric inserted inside and around a fractured bone. No financial terms were disclosed.
Israel and California-based DustPhotonics, a provider of optical modules, has secured $25 million in funding. Intel Capital led the round with participation from other investors that included WRVI Capital.
Atlanta-based Drum, an on-demand network sales force platform, has raised nearly $11 million in seed funding. The investors included Propel Venture Partners, Felicis Ventures, BlueRun Ventures, American Express Ventures, GroTech Ventures, Wildcat Venture Partners, BoxGroup and SV Angel.
Matchstick Ventures has raised over $30.4 million for its second fund, according to an SEC filing. Based in Boulder, Colorado, Matchstick is an early-stage tech venture firm.
HP Inc has acquired California-based Bromium, a security startup. No financial terms were disclosed. Bromium's backers included Silver Lake Waterman, Andreessen Horowitz, Ignition Partners, Highland Capital Partners, Intel Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Meritech Capital Partners.
New York City-based Voro, a healthcare social network, has secured $2.5 million in seed funding. Floodgate led the round.
Rochester, New York and Poland-based Jorsek, a provider of knowledge management software for the technical documentation market, has raised $2.7 million in funding. Armory Square Ventures led the round with participation from Greycroft and Drake Ventures.
London-based Red Sift, a cognitive data platform, has raised $8.8 million in funding. MMC Ventures led the round with participation from In-Q-Tel, Inc, White Star Capital and Oxford Capital.
