Cloudvirga, a developer of intelligent mortgage point-of-sale platforms, has appointed Jim Portner as chief product officer. Previously, Portner worked at First American Financial Corporation where he was senior vice president of products and strategy. Cloudvirga’s backers include Dallas Capital, Upfront Ventures and Tribeca Angels.
UK-based Loot, a digital banking startup, has secured 2.2 million pounds in funding. The lead investors in this round were Portag3, Speedinvest and Power Corporation's corporate VC arm.
Boston-based Jnana Therapeutics Inc, which is focused on discovering drugs for cancer and other conditions by zeroing in on cellular proteins, has raised $50 million in Series A financing. The investors were Polaris Partners, Avalon Ventures, Versant Ventures, AbbVie Ventures and Pfizer R&D Innovate.
Software builder Paddle has raised $12.5 million in funding, according to a blog post. Notion led the round with participation from BGF Ventures, Kindred Capital and MacPaw.
London-based Pace, a hotel pricing startup, has secured 2.5 million pounds in seed funding. InterGlobe led the round with participation from Seedcamp, Speedinvest and Amadeus Capital Partners.
San Francisco-based Bay Labs, a medical technology company, has closed $5.5 million in Series A funding. Khosla Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Data Collective, Greenbox Venture Partners, Minneapolis Heart Institute Ventures and Georges Harik. In conjunction with the funding, Ben Ling, a general partner at Khosla Ventures, and Armen Vidian, an operating partner at DCVC, will join Bay Labs’ board of directors.
San Francisco-based game developer nWay has raised $11 million in funding. The investors included March Capital Partners and Ridge Ventures.
Manhattan Beach, California-based Curisium, a healthcare technology and services company, has raised $3.5 million in seed financing. The backers were Flare Capital Partners, New Enterprise Associates, Shuttle Fund, Sanofi Ventures and Green Bay Ventures. In conjunction with the financing, Bill Geary of Flare Capital and Mohamad Makhzoumi of NEA have joined Curisium's board of directors while Ruchita Sinha of Sanofi Ventures has become a board observer.
Boston-based Ginkgo Bioworks, an organism company, has raised $275 million in Series D funding. The investors included Viking Global, Y Combinator's Continuity Fund, Cascade Investment and General Atlantic.
Oakland, California-based Elemeno Health, a digital health startup, has secured $1.3 million in seed funding. Launchpad Digital Health led the round.
