Viola Ventures, formerly known as Carmel Ventures, has raised over $170 million toward its fifth fund. The target is $200 million. The fund will invest in Israeli or Israeli-related early stage companies.

Brighteye Ventures, a European edtech-focused venture firm, has closed its debut fund at 50 million euros. The fund will lead or participate in Series A or B rounds for edtech companies; it will also consider making acquisitions. Brighteye Venture Advisers is the fund's adviser.
Klingenstein Fields Wealth Advisors is seeking to raise $50 million for a venture fund, according to an SEC filing. The New York City-based firm provides financial and investment advice.
LumiThera Inc., a medical device company focused on treating ocular disorders and diseases, has closed $5.5 million in Series B financing. WaterStone Capital led the round with participation from RPR Venture. In conjunction with the funding, WaterStone Capital's founding partner Yigang Yang will join the LumiThera board of directors.
