KDT Ventures has raised $3.54 million for its debut fund, according to an SEC filing. The target is $30 million. The North Carolina-based early-stage venture firm focuses on the "intersection of technology and science."
AppGuard, a cyber security company, has secured more than $30 million in Series B funding. JTB Corp led the round. In addition to the funding, AppGuard has appointed Jon Loew as its new CEO.
Laguna Hills, California-based Sonendo Inc, a dental technology, has raised $50 million in funding. The investors included General Atlantic, Fjord Ventures, OrbiMed Advisors LLC, Meritech Capital Partners, CVF LLC and NeoMed. In conjunction with the funding, David Caluori of General Atlantic has been added to Sonendo's board of directors.
Birdies, a maker of home slippers, has secured $2 million in funding. Forerunner Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Slow Ventures, Graph Ventures and Social Capital.
San Francisco-based YayPay, a fintech startup, has secured $5.3 million in funding. QED Investors, Birchmere and Fifth Third Capital led the round with participation from 500 Fintech Fund, Aspect Ventures, Gaingels, Techstars and Zelkova.
Swrve, a provider of mobile marketing automation, has raised $25 million in Series D financing. The investors included Summit Bridge Capital.
Boston-based LifeMine Therapeutics, a drug discovery platform provider, has raised $55 million in Series A financing. WuXi Healthcare Ventures led the round with participation from Foresite Capital, GV, Arch Ventures, Boyu Capital, Blue Pool Capital, Merck Ventures and Alexandria Venture Investments.
Livonia, Michigan-based Ushr Inc, a provider of mapping technology and software for autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles, has secured $10 million in Series A funding. Forté Ventures led the round with participation from EnerTech Capital, Emerald Technology Ventures and GM Ventures.
SimpleFinance, a lender for small and medium-sized businesses in Russia, has secured an undisclosed amount of funding. The investor was the SBI FinTech Fund.
Ellevest, a digital investment platform for women, has secured $34.6 million in funding. Rethink Impact led the round with participation from other investors that included PSP Growth, Salesforce Ventures, CreditEase Fintech Investment Fund, LH Holdings, SK Impact Fund, LLC, Morningstar, Khosla Ventures, Mellody Hobson, Ulu Ventures, Contour Venture Partners and Astia Angels. In addition to the funding, Jenny Abramson, Rethink Impact’s founder and managing partner, will join Ellevest's board.
