CityLift Parking said Oct. 4 that it completed a Series C capital round with Dundon Capital Partners. Financial terms weren’t announced. CityLift, of Oakland, California, designs, installs, and services automated parking lifts that aim to save space, reduce the cost of building parking, and reduce construction time.
Authenticity.AI raised an initial seed round of funding from Knox Capital. Financial terms weren’t announced. Authenticity.AI provides an artificial intelligence platform for language translation and speech-to-text processing of audio and video formats.
Super{set} said Oct. 2 that it secured $65 million in funding. Super{set}, a San Francisco startup studio that aims to launch data-driven enterprise tech companies, did not disclose investors.
Khatabook said Oct. 1 that it raised a $25 million Series A round from GGV Capital, partners of DST Global, RTP Ventures, Sequoia India, Tencent, Y Combinator and others. More than 20 prominent angels* including Amrish Rau, Anand Chandrasekharan, Deep Nishar, Gokul Rajaram, Jitendra Gupta, Kunal Bahl, Kunal Shah and others also took part. Khatabook is a mobile application that enables SMEs to record & track business transactions.
Kenna Security said Sept. 30 that it raised $48 million in a Series D round of funding. New investors include Sorenson Capital and Citi Ventures. Kenna’s existing investors, including Bessemer Venture Partners, U.S. Venture Partners, Costanoa Ventures, Hyde Park Angels, and OurCrowd, joined the funding round. Kenna provides risk-based vulnerability management services.
Bregal Milestone and First Fellow Partners have invested 41.5 million euros ($45.3 million) in ePassi. Pekka Rantala, the newly appointed ePassi CEO, is co-investing in the transaction. EPassi, of Helsinki, provides mobile payments for subsidized employee benefits.
Booksy said Sept. 26 that it raised $28.5 million in a Series B2 financing round led by existing investors existing investors Piton Capital, Enern, and others as well as new investors, Industry Ventures and XG Ventures. Also participating were individual investors such as Zach Coelius (founder of Triggit), Kai Hansen (Booksy board member), Chris Guzowski, Haanes Graah (vice president of growth, Revolut; former global head of new markets, Spotify), Piotr Jakubowski and Rohan Monga (former CMO and COO of Go-Jek, respectively). Booksy is a mobile marketplace for appointment-driven beauty services.
Palantir Technologies is seeking funding from private investors that values the data company company founded by Peter Thiel at $26 billion, the Financial Times reported. Palantir has pushed off plans for an IPO, which is now expected in two to three years, the story said.
Vedanta Biosciences said Sept. 23 that it raised $16.6 million in Series C-2 financing. Participants include QUAD Investment Management, SV Investment Corp, Shinhan Investment-Private Equity, Shinhan Capital-Yeollim Partners, Partners Investment Co Ltd, FC Capital, and SymBiosis LLC, who joined the previously announced Series C investors, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Rock Springs Capital, JSR Corp, Shumway Capital, Invesco Asset Management, Health for Life (Seventure Partners), and founder PureTech Health. Vedanta is developing therapies for immune-mediated diseases based on rationally-defined consortia of human microbiome-derived bacteria.
GitLab said Sept. 17 that it raised $268 million in a Series E round led by existing investors Goldman Sachs and ICONIQ. The round included participation from nine new-to-GitLab investors. GitLab sells tools for software developers within a single application, according to the Wall Street Journal.
