Bear Recaps Crestcom

Bear Growth Capital Partners has sponsored a majority recap of Crestcom International LLC, a Denver-based global franchisor of management skills training systems. No financial terms were disclosed.

Bear Growth Capital Partners (“BGCP“), an affiliate of Bear Stearns Merchant Banking, today announced a majority investment in Crestcom International, LLC (“Crestcom“) in connection with a recapitalization of the company. Crestcom's existing management team will remain in place following the transaction and continue to own a significant equity stake. Crestcom is a leading global franchisor of management skills training. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Based in Denver, Crestcom was founded by CEO Hal Krause in 1987. Crestcom's management team also includes John Krause, Executive Vice President; Don Boselli, Vice President of Operations; and Kelly Krause, Vice President of International Marketing and Development. For nearly two decades, Crestcom has provided clients with highly relevant training modules that focus on the critical skills necessary for managers in any industry and in any geography to succeed. Crestcom utilizes a franchise system to deliver its content through seminars that combine video-based instruction featuring experts in their respective fields blended with live instruction and reinforcement from the franchisee trainer. Crestcom currently has 193 individual franchisees who own more than 225 franchises in more than 53 countries.
