NASHVILLE, TN, July 7, 2020 – Beast Brands announced today that they’ve closed a Series A fundraising round of over $3 million. The round is led by New Orleans-based investment firm, Callais Capital Management, and includes investment from Sand Hill Angels and Capital Innovators, where Beast Brands previously participated in their accelerator program.

Beast Brands creates personal care products “for Beasts of all kinds.” Made in the USA, the brand formulates their all-in-one products from shampoo and conditioners to soaps and lotions with natural, intense botanicals that make bodies feel good. Each formula features energizing properties, sustainably sourced ingredients, and stimulating scents including eucalyptus, ginseng, green tea, and more. The Nashville-based brand is dedicated to making the earth a better place through environmentally friendly practices, including their reusable, infinitely recyclable Beast Bottle. Their products are vegan, cruelty-free, and help people feel fantastic in their own skin.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, which has sidelined many companies seeking investment, Beast Brands was able to move forward and close their fundraising round thanks in part to their continued growth during this challenging time. This includes 220% growth in hero SKUs such as their Wash for Everyone and Bar Soap, essential products during a period of increased focus on personal hygiene.

“We are thrilled to partner with Callais Capital,” says Beast Brands Founder and President, John Cascarano. “This investment will allow us to focus on product improvement and marketing. We will be offering more reduced plastic and reusable packaging, more natural formulas, and more products aimed at a whole range of Beasts. We also want to highlight our ‘don’t just say, but do’ ethos when it comes to being active in the community, through giving back with 1% For The Planet and other charities.”

After US Women’s World Cup Champion and Olympian, Kelley O’Hara, joined Team Beast as their VP of Brand Engagement & Product Strategy in 2019, the brand doubled down on their sustainability focus (Kelley attended Stanford University, where she studied science, technology and society with a focus in environmental engineering). She is leading the charge with delivering best-in-class products that do not compromise ingredients, and further building a brand rooted in equality and inclusion as she helps steer Beast into the unisex market.

“At Callais Capital, we are always looking for brands with great energy,” says Mark Graffagnini, Partner at Callais Capital. “We appreciated Beast Brands’ consistent growth, their brand positioning, and especially the experience and qualifications of the management team. The brand has exceeded in the men’s sector, and we are happy to support their growth in the ‘beasts of all kinds’ space. Our experience helping companies scale and navigate large exits will help round out the team’s natural talents at growth.” Mark Graffagnini will join the board of directors as a result of the investment.

Since 2015, Beast Brands has been steadily growing. In 2016, NYU professor and dermatologist Dr. Michael Lorin Reed joined as an advisor, and their “Tame the Beast Extreme Yawp All-in-1 Wash” launched and quickly earned a #1 New Release badge on Amazon. The following year, Beast Brands graduated from The Brandery, a nationally ranked startup accelerator. In 2020, Beast Brands’ Wash for Everyone won a Men’s Health Grooming Award.
