Beringea Promotes Michael Gross

Beringea has promoted Michael Gross from director to managing director. He leads the firm’s North American healthcare and life science VC practice, and serves on the boards of  gloStream and Pioneer Surgical Technology.

Michael Gross has been promoted from director to managing director at Beringea, an international private equity and investment banking firm.

Gross leads Beringea’s North American health care and life science venture capital activities and is responsible for investment sourcing, analysis, deal execution and portfolio management. In addition, he is actively involved in the firm’s European life sciences investment activities, as well as Beringea’s health care and life science investment banking transactions.

“Michael has brought a decade’s worth of transaction experience – with extensive experience in the health care and life sciences industries – to Beringea,” said Charles Rothstein, senior managing director and co-founder at Beringea. “His experience, expertise and intelligent approach fit perfectly with our philosophy.”

Gross’ expertise includes medical devices, diagnostics, life science research, drug delivery, health care providers and outsourced services. In addition, he has written a number of articles and research papers and frequently speaks at venture capital and health care industry events.

Currently, Gross serves on the board of directors for Bloomfield Hills-based gloStream, a developer of electronic medical record and practice management solutions for physicians and is a board observer for Marquette-based Pioneer Surgical Technology, a developer of orthopedic and spinal implantable medical devices. Both companies are Beringea portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Beringea, Gross was vice president of investment banking at P&M Corporate Finance (PMCF). In that role, he led M&A transactions and capital raises for companies in the life sciences, health care and outsourced business services sectors. Prior to PMCF, Gross worked in the investment banking group at Stout Risius Ross, Inc.

A native of Kalamazoo, Mich., Gross is a CFA charterholder and has a bachelor of arts degree in finance from Michigan State University in East Lansing.

He resides with his family in Clarkston, Michigan.
