Bessemer’s India fund receives backing from Taiwan Life

The Taiwan insurance company has backed the venture fund with a $5m commitment.

Taiwan Life Insurance has confirmed it committed $5 million to Bessemer Venture Partners India Institutional, which is managed by Bessemer Venture Partners.

Bessemer’s investments in India include food delivery firm Swiggy and online grocer BigBasket.

As illustrated below, the Taiwanese insurer’s recent private equity commitments have been to venture and growth equity vehicles across several regions.
