BrightEdge, a Foster City, Calif.-based provider of on-demand search engine optimization (SEO) management solutions, has raised $6.5 million in Series B funding. Battery Ventures led the round, and was joined by return backers Altos Ventures and Illuminate Ventures.
BrightEdge, the on-demand leader in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Management, today announced that it has raised $6.5M in additional funding. The new funding round was led by Battery Ventures, with existing investors Altos Ventures and Illuminate Ventures also participating. BrightEdge will use this investment to accelerate its entry into the market and to expand engineering and operations to support a fast growing number of customers on its leading SEO platform.
With this new investment, Battery Ventures Partner and former Google manager Satya Patel will join BrightEdge’s board of directors. Satya brings deep expertise in the online marketing industry from his recent investments at Battery and from Google where he helped build the AdSense business through various partner development and product management activities.
