Insight Partners leads C$10m funding round for Designstripe

Insight Partners led the round with participation from Silicon Valley Bank.

Montreal-based Designstripe, a provider of visual communication and creative tools, has raised C$10 million in funding. Insight Partners led the round with participation from Silicon Valley Bank. The capital infusion will be used to enhance and expand Designstripe’s design tools.

Designstripe was founded by Francois Arbour in 2020. Arbour sold his first business PremiumBeat to Shutterstock in 2015. Designstripe currently offers a combination of customizable content and intuitive tools for non-designers across consumer and enterprise clients.

On the transaction, Thilo Semmelbauer, managing director at Insight Partners, said in a statement: “With customizable content and intuitive tools, designstripe allows anyone to create professional looking designs. designstripe is already disrupting the design tool category and has enormous potential across multiple horizontal design categories. We’re excited to partner with Francois and his team as they continue to grow and scale up.”

As of February 24, 2022, the closing of Insight’s recent fundraise, Fund XII, brings the investor’s regulatory assets under management to over $90 billion, according to the firm. Insight Partners has invested in more than 600 companies worldwide. Headquartered in New York City, Insight has offices in London, Tel Aviv, and Palo Alto.
