Diversity-focused Collab Capital raises $50m

The Atlanta emerging manager focuses on Black entrepreneurs and will invest in its hometown of Atlanta and in such cities as DC, Houston, Detroit, St. Louis, and New Orleans.

Atlanta-based Collab Capital announced it has raised $50 million from 99 LPs to make early-stage investments in Black entrepreneurs. The firm, headed up by managing partners Justin Dawkins, Jewel Burks Solomon and Barry Givens, expects to invest a majority of its fund in its hometown of Atlanta and in such cities as DC, Houston, Detroit, St. Louis, and New Orleans.

The firm expects to invest in 50 start-ups in the next three to five years.
