PARIS, May 14 (Reuters) – French investment group Eurazeo (EURA.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) and U.S. property company Colony Capital are not seeking control of French hotels and services group Accor (ACCP.PA: Quote, Profile, Research), Eurazeo's chief executive repeated on Wednesday.
Patrick Sayer also told the annual shareholders meeting that Eurazeo's strategy towards Accor was friendly and that it backed the strategy of Accor's management.
“Do we want control of Accor ? No and no,” he said.
“The management (of Accor) says our strategy is friendly, which it is indeed,” he added.
Sayer also said Eurazeo “never asked” for the sale of Accor's services business.
Earlier this month Colony Capital and Eurazeo said they plan to raise their stakes in Accor to a total of some 30 percent. They currently hold a combined 17.5 percent stake in Accor.
