San Francisco-based FTW Ventures has raised $4 million for its inaugural fund, according to a regulatory filing. The firm, founded by general partner Brian Frank, aims to invest in 15-20 early-stage companies in the foodtech space, with check sizes ranging from $100,000 to $500,000. The firm says it has backed five companies to date, including Geltor, a San Francisco start-up that makes animal-free beauty and nutritional products.
