Insight seeks second Vision fund to back diverse-led, early-stage VCs

In June 2021, Insight Partners rolled out its first Vision Capital fund to back diverse-led emerging managers as it aims to help close the industry's diversity gap. No target is listed on Fund II.

Growth-equity mega-fund Insight Partners is seeking to raise its second fund to invest in diverse-led, early-stage funds. A regulatory filing did not indicate a target amount, but the document states the New York-based investor is seeking to raise Insight Vision Capital II.

In June, Insight Partners announced a $15 million Vision Capital 2020 Limited Partner Fund to provide capital to diverse fund managers, which the firm identifies as Black, Latinx, female or LGBTQ+ and who are raising a first or second fund. That first Vision fund was raised entirely through capital commitments from senior partners of Insight.

The initial Vision fund is already fully invested in 12 emerging managers, including January Ventures, Cake Ventures, Chingona Ventures, Fearless Fund, Footwork Capital, Harlem Capital, Maple VC, NOEMIS Ventures, RareBreed Ventures, Precursor Ventures and Ulu Ventures.
