Lippencott joins a16z crypto fund

Jane Lippencott becomes the latest hire at the crypto fund of Andreessen Horowitz, after she was previously at Distributed Global and Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss venture firm before that.

Jane Lippencott announced on Twitter she has joined a16z as a partner on their crypto fund. Andreessen Horowitz, which has invested in crypto assets since 2013, announced in June it has raised $2.2 billion for its third crypto fund, which is co-led by Chris Dixon and Katie Haun.

Lippencott’s hire comes two months after the firm named Arianna Simpson as a new general partner for its crypto fund.

Prior to joining a16z, Lippencott was a partner for about seven months at Distributed Global, according to her LinkedIn. She has also served as an advisor or mentor to Celo, Teller Finance and Open Web Collective.

Before Distributed Global, she was an associate at Winklevoss Capital.
