LP Perspectives 2022: Survey methodology

In Venture Capital Journal’s LP Perspectives 2022 Study, our research and analysis team conducted interviews with 111 institutional investors worldwide during August and September 2021. Participating LPs provided their responses anonymously.

It was a mix of participating LPs, but pension funds constituted the largest group at 27 percent. Insurance companies were the second largest at 17 percent. Three out of four LPs in the study are from the US or Western Europe.

Our hope in conducting this study is to gauge the mindset of LPs on asset allocation, the propensity to invest, and performance predictions. The questions are reviewed annually to better reflect market developments and shifts in sentiment.
