HOUSTON (PRWEB) JANUARY 11, 2021
Cottonwood Venture Partners, an investment firm partnering with technology companies that provide software solutions for the broad energy industry, announced today that it has changed its name to Montrose Lane.
“Our mission is to uphold a creative and fast-moving approach to partnering with software companies that help make energy affordable, safe, and environmentally friendly,” said Jeremy Arendt, Managing Partner. “For several reasons, ‘Montrose Lane’ captures that vision for us.”
The Montrose Lane name change is effective immediately. The firm’s strategy, team, and ownership remain unchanged.
Montrose Lane today also announced the final close on its second fund with total capital commitments of $64 million, double the size of its first fund. Investors in Fund II include legacy Fund I investors, new institutional investors, and strategic corporations. Montrose Lane was founded in 2017 and has since raised approximately $100 million in aggregate capital commitments and invested in ten portfolio companies. Montrose Lane is continuing to invest in existing and new portfolio companies out of its second fund.
“We are humbled to have had such supportive partners behind us since we first set out to invest in technology companies changing the way the energy industry does business,” said Ryan Gurney, Managing Partner. “The global pandemic has only accelerated the need to adopt digital solutions throughout the energy industry. We are excited to pursue the opportunity alongside our existing and new investors.”
