Rally Software Buys 6th Sense Analytics

Rally Software Development Corp., a Boulder, Colo.-based provider of on-demand application life cycle management solutions, has acquired 6th Sense Analytics Inc., a Morrisville, N.C.-based provider of on-demand automated metrics collection and analysis solution for development organizations. No financial terms were disclosed. Rally Software has raised over $35 million in VC funding, from firms like Mohr Davidow Ventures, Boulder Ventures, Mobius Venture Capital and Vista Ventures. 6th Sense had raised around $6.5 million from Core Capital Partners and InterSouth Partners.



Rally Software Development Corp.®, the Agile lifecycle management leader, today announced that it has acquired the assets of 6th Sense Analytics, Inc., provider of an on-demand automated metrics collection and analysis solution for development organizations. The acquisition of 6th Sense Analytics’ product capabilities and team of experienced developers will build on Rally’s recent 2008.6 product release to deliver more access to project data and easier ways to report progress and quality across the Agile development lifecycle.

In December, Rally introduced its sixth product release of 2008, which was all about the power of real-time project information in driving Agile development for distributed teams. Rally Release 2008.6 gives Agile organizations more access to project data, deeper integration with other development and management systems and easier ways to report progress and quality. The acquisition of 6th Sense Analytics will build upon the 2008.6 product release to add rich analytics and trending to Rally’s Agile application lifecycle management platform.
