Root Ventures closes over $31.4 mln for inaugural fund

New venture firm Root Ventures has raised over $31.4 million for its debut fund, according to an SEC filing. Avidan Ross, a former chief technology officer at the CIM Group, is the founding partner of Root Ventures, which will focus on connected devices, engineering tools and data science.
