RRE Ventures closes $280 mln for sixth fund

New York-based RRE Ventures has raised $280 million in the final close of its sixth fund. Its LP base includes financial service firms, insurance companies, family offices, foundations and endowments.

NEW YORK, April 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — RRE Ventures, LLC (“RRE”) is pleased to announce that it has successfully held the final closing of RRE Ventures VI, LP (“RRE VI”) with capital commitments of $280 million.
RRE is a leading venture capital firm headquartered in the New York metro market. The firm invests in companies that leverage technologies to disrupt and transform many of the world’s major industries.
Led by Co-Managing Partners James D. Robinson IV and Stuart J. Ellman, RRE has organized and managed six funds since its founding in 1994, with total capital commitments in excess of $1.3 billion.

Demand substantially exceeded our target but we but we capped the fund at an optimal size for our strategy.”

The Fund includes a broad mix of corporate funds, financial service and insurance companies, family offices, endowments, foundations and substantial individual investors.
