PRESS RELEASE

Sigma Partners, an early-stage technology venture capital firm celebrating 25 years of excellence, announced that Paul Flanagan has been promoted to Managing Director.

Paul has been with Sigma for the past two years as a venture partner and, before that, an executive in residence. Following Sigma’s philosophy of venture capitalists having operational experience, Paul has spent over 20 years in operating roles. He has been instrumental in building two companies from early-stage venture-backed businesses to public companies, each with revenues in excess of $100 million and market capitalizations over $1 billion.

“Paul will now be making investment decisions and fostering portfolio company success alongside the other nine Managing Directors at Sigma,” stated Bob Davoli, Managing Director of Sigma Partners in Boston. Before Sigma, Paul was an EVP and CFO with VistaPrint Ltd., an online graphic design and full color printing company serving the small business market. VistaPrint raised $138 million in an IPO that resulted in a market capitalization in excess of $1.2 billion. Previous to VistaPrint, Paul held the CEO, COO, and CFO roles at varying times at StorageNetworks, a datastorage software and services company backed by Sigma Partners. Paul led the company through four private rounds of financing, an initial public offering, and a subsequent follow on offering, achieving a multi-billion dollar market capitalization. Prior to joining StorageNetworks, Paul was a vice president at Lasertron, Inc., a manufacturer of fiber optic components for the telecommunication industry. Paul began his career with Ernst & Young LLP.

“I am looking forward to my new role with Sigma,” commented Mr. Flanagan. “Following the firm’s mantra, I look to invest in exceptional entrepreneurs with differentiating technology where Sigma can partner with them to help build their company.”

Paul Flanagan is based in Sigma Partners’ Boston office, one of three offices that invest in a variety of technology industry segments throughout the U.S. Sigma is currently investing Fund 8, a $500 million fund raised in 2007.
