Space Capital has raised almost $15 mln towards debut $50 mln fund

Space Capital Partners, has raised almost $15 million of a targeted $50 million for its inaugural venture fund, according to a filing with the SEC.  The New York firm invests in early-stage commercial space ventures.

Space Capital is also known as Space Angels and publishes a report on venture investment into the space industry. The firm’s CEO Chad Anderson and Managing Partner Tom Ingersoll are listed on the filing. VCJ previously reported that Ingersoll, ex-CEO of Skybox Imagingis a managing partner of the firm.

The filing says that 37 investors have committed to the fund.
