Techstars Ventures said it has raised a $150 million third fund to make seed and Series A investments in companies emerging from the Techstars ecosystem, including its accelerator program.
The new fund – Techstars Ventures 2014 – is larger than previous funds and enables the firm to make more investments and ones in somewhat later rounds. The announcement was made in a blog post here.
As part of the announcement, the organization named three Techstars employees to partners at the fund: Jason Seats, Nicole Glaros and Ari Newman.
Techstars’ first fund was about $5 million and its second fund was about $25 million, according to data from Thomson Reuters and news sources.
