Telus Health buys iGan Partners-backed Akira and Right Health

Telus Health has acquired Toronto-based Akira Health and Right Health, together a provider of virtual and in-person healthcare technology.

No financial terms were released for the deal, which will see Akira and Right Health continue to operate under their existing brand.

Founded in 2015, Akira was acquired two years later by Right Health, a portfolio company of Canadian healthcare technology venture capital firm iGan Partners. Akira-Right Health is led by Co-founders and Co-CEOs John Mozas and Dan Pawliw.

Telus Health is the digital health solutions and technology affiliate of Canadian telecommunications company Telus Corp (TSX: T).

We are excited to announce that, as of today, TELUS Health has finalized the acquisition of Akira Health. As a result, our Akira Health employees and health care providers will officially be joining the extended TELUS Health family over the next few months.

Moving forward, Akira Health will continue to focus on outstanding service to its members, plan sponsors, and partners; there are no planned changes to our staff, business premises, branding, or operations. Our members and clients will continue to be supported by our current clinical and office teams.
