Iceland-based TripCreator, a provider of trip-planning solutions, has secured $8 million in funding. The investors were not named.
September 6, 2018 – Aviation Festival 2018, Stand 61, London – TripCreator™ (Reykjavík, Iceland), a pioneer in the planning, management and analysis of complex leisure and business trip itineraries, today announced it has emerged from stealth with funding of $8M from a range of business angels and VC funds.
The company has already begun work with leading worldwide travel agencies, including Tumlare™ (part of JTB® Corporation, one of the largest DMCs in the world), Grayline Iceland and WOW® Airlines.
Based on a unique technology stack capable of analyzing travel itineraries at incredibly high speed and then making recommendations based on hundreds of thousands of points of interest in the company’s database, TripCreator is a new benchmark for travel professionals. TripCreator is a service of integral importance to the global tourism market, which reflects a $1T+ revenue stream (based on 2015 numbers).
The TripCreator database includes hundreds of thousands of points of interest and can easily integrate with existing travel inventory, with a dedicated analytics dashboard allowing fine levels of granular analysis on a wide range of indices including profitability, available inventory, customer loyalty and many more.
TripCreator itineraries can be easily shared, modified and integrated into popular services such as Booking.com, Priceline.com and many others. Car rentals, driving directions, airline delays and a wide range of travel-oriented data from 3rd parties can be quickly pulled into new or existing itineraries.
The company’s mobile apps on iOS™ and Android® will enable travelers to update their plans in real time (and space), including online/offline customer trips, driving/walking/cycling directions and travel documents. An upcoming version 2.0 of the app enabling planning functionality with real-time suggestions will be available starting in October.
