Twin Lakes Buys MacKenzie-Childs

Twin Lakes Capital has acquired MacKenzie-Childs, an Aurora, N.Y.-based maker and retailer of hand-painted ceramics, home decor and accessories. No financial terms were disclosed. MacKenzie-Childs was advised on the deal by Gruppo, Levey & Co.

Gruppo, Levey & Co. (“GLC”) announced today its role as exclusive financial advisor to MacKenzie-Childs, the Aurora, New York-based designer, manufacturer, and retailer of hand-painted ceramics, furniture, home decor and accessories, with respect to its sale to Twin Lakes Capital, a New York-based private equity firm. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

GLC held conversations with numerous parties who expressed interest in acquiring the company. The 25 year-old MacKenzie-Childs brand is known for its distinctive aesthetic, whimsical patterns and bright colors. MacKenzie- Childs sells its high-quality home products through its award-winning catalog, website, and to leading high-end third-party retailers/boutiques, as well as at its three company-owned stores.
