VC-backed New Wave Foods appoints Wolf as CEO

The maker of plant-based seafood is backed by New Enterprise Associates, Evolution VC Partners, Sand Hill Angels and Tyson Ventures, the venture capital arm of Tyson Foods Inc.

New Wave Foods, a developer of plant-based seafood products, has named Michelle Wolf as full-time CEO.

Wolf is a co-founder of the brand. “When I co-founded New Wave Foods, I wanted to create a popular plant-based shrimp that would meet the rising consumer interest in sustainable food and the evolving needs of foodservice operators,” Wolf said in a statement. “I’m excited to continue in this role and build our portfolio to include more delicious options.”

Wolf has a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, where she also received her undergraduate degree. Her work background includes consumer packaged goods experience at L’Oreal.

New Wave Food’s investors include New Enterprise Associates, Evolution VC Partners, Sand Hill Angels and Tyson Ventures, the venture capital arm of Tyson Foods.
