General Catalyst promotes Bonatsos to venture partner

General Catalyst has promoted Niko Bonatsos from principal to venture partner.  Bonatsos joined the firm in 2011.

General Catalyst announced the move via a blog on Medium. On his bio page, Bonatsos said he has been involved with such portfolio companies as Chatous/Kiwi, ClassDojo, FlightCar, Livongo Health, Listia, PumpUp, Pushbullet, RealtyShares and Snapchat.

Wing expands with new hire

Jay Kidd has joined Wing Venture Capital as a partner of market acceleration. Previously, Kidd worked at NetApp and Brocade. Kidd will lead the firm’s initiative to help its portfolio companies identify and achieve product/market fit. Wing was co-founded by Gaurav Garg and Peter Wagner.

Foundation Capital appoints Rajaraman as EIR

Foundation Capital has named Sunil Rajaraman as entrepreneur-in-residence. Rajaraman is the co-founder and CEO of Unsugarcoat Media, a media holding company. Before that, previously, he was co-founder and CEO of Scripted.com, a marketplace for businesses to hire freelance writers.

Qiming names Hu managing partner

Qiming Venture Partners has promoted William Hu to managing partner. Hu has been with Qiming for nearly nine years and participated in several healthcare deals for the firm, which has offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Suzhou and Seattle. Qiming focuses on early to growth-stage investments in IT, healthcare and cleantech and what it calls “Internet and consumer.”
