Venture capital emerging manager roundup: March, Atomic, Palisades and more

Emerging managers raised more than $2.4 billion in the past few weeks; venture capital firms were responsible for more than $500 million of that.

No young venture firm raised more than March Capital Partners. The Santa Monica, California-based firm raised more than $255 million across two funds currently in market.

Atomic, a startup studio backed by Peter Thiel, closed its second flagship at over $187 million.

Palisades Growth Capital seeks software and technology companies primarily from Southern California. Its second fund raised over $70 million.

Below is a rundown of the most significant emerging venture capital funds that VCJ has identified as in the market over the past few weeks:

AFI Capital Partners is a growth equity investment firm. Its first flagship raised $5.8 million.

Atomic is an early-stage venture firm backed by Peter Thiel. Its debut fund closed with $20 million. Its second closed with more than $148 million.

Bay Capital Ventures is another early-stage firm. Its first flagship has raised over $5 million of a targeted $150 million.

DeepWork Capital invests in high-growth companies in the tech and life science sectors. Its second fund raised more than $11 million toward a $50 million target,

March Capital is a technology investment firm, focusing on enterprise software, cloud & IOT infrastructure and next-gen consumer products. It’s second flagship fund and opportunity fund raised a combined volume of over $255 million.
