Version One nets $100m for fourth flagship, second opportunities funds

Vancouver-based venture capital firm Version One Ventures has secured $100 million for two new funds, including a fourth flagship early-stage fund.

Canadian venture capital firm Version One Ventures has secured $100 million for two new funds, according to a blog post.

Version One collected $70 million for a fourth flagship pre-seed and seed-stage vehicle to invest in companies in crypto-blockchain and climate-energy sectors, as well as software-as-a-service, marketplaces and healthcare. It also raised $30 million for a second opportunities fund, earmarked for later-stage investments in and outside of the portfolio.

Vancouver-based Version One is led by founding partner Boris Wertz and general partner Angela Tran Kingyens.
