Vertex Ventures US, which recently raised $150 million for its sophomore fund, has hired Domenic Perri as a partner to help support the firm’s portfolio.
Previously, Perri was director of business development at Dropbox, where he led a global team managing product integration partnerships for business customers. Before that, he was global head of M&A integration at Tesla.
Vertex Ventures US, which is a part of the Vertex Ventures Holdings network but operates separately, has not yet made a formal announcement of the hire. Perri is listed on the firm’s website and has updated his LinkedIn profile.
Perri joined the firm earlier this month and his bio says he focuses on the portfolio companies, providing strategic support and connecting them to customers, talent and industry experts.
The firm was co-founded four years ago by General Partners In Sik Rhee and Jonathan Heiliger to make early-stage investments in enterprise and cloud infrastructure companies. The pair have known each other since working together at Loudcloud, which later became Opsware.
Prior to launching Vertex Ventures US, Rhee was a general partner at Rembrandt Venture Partners. Heiliger, a former vice president at Facebook, was a general partner at North Bridge Venture Partners.
The firm’s first fund was also about $150 million.
Vertex Ventures US, which operates out of Palo Alto, California, is opening a San Francisco office soon.
