Alex Lim, who helped source such deals as Cyence, Hims & Hers, Lime and Qubole while at late-stage investor IVP, has joined London-based investor Blossom Capital as managing partner.
At Blossom, Lim will work alongside fellow managing partner and Blossom founder Ophelia Brown, investing in early-stage European start-ups.
The UK-born Lim is the latest addition to Blossom Capital, which, founded in 2017 and already on its second fund, has bulked up its staff recently, adding Tatiana Chopova as operating partner and Kim Goddard as talent partner.
Venture Capital Journal named Lim one of its Rising Stars in January 2021. He joined IVP in March 2015 as an associate and was promoted to senior associate after a year and was announced as a partner earlier this year when IVP closed on its 17th late-stage fund.
While at IVP, Lim focused on high-growth consumer and enterprise companies on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, including Hopin, a virtual event platform; UiPath, an automation company; Discord, the chat platform with 150 million-plus monthly active users; and Hims & Hers.
Among the other deals he was involved with at IVP was SteelBrick, which was later sold to Salesforce.com for $360 million.
