Announced Deals for Europe, Nov – Dec

A total of 95 European companies received an aggregate €927.13 million in disclosed venture financing between Nov. 16 and Dec. 16, 2010, according to Thomson Reuters (publisher of VCJ).

The largest deal done the period was for O3B Networks Ltd., a developer of satellite-based Internet backbone infrastructure solutions based in the Channel Islands. It raised €312.46 million from Allen & Co., Google Ventures, North Bridge Venture Partners and two undisclosed investors.

Of the total companies financed, 35 had one or more backers based in the United States. Deals by notable American VCs included:

  • FleetMatics, an Ireland-based company that provides customers with real time information about their mobile assets, which raised €51.10 million from Institutional Venture Partners, Investcorp Technology Investments Group and New World Ventures.
  • MyThings (UK) Ltd., a U.K. startup that operates as an online personalized retargeting company, which raised €4.48 million from Accel Partners, Carmel Ventures, T-Venture Holding GmbH and an undisclosed investor.
  • And PCH International Ltd., an Ireland-based supply chain management company, which raised €17.47 million from Focus Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Norwest Venture Partners and an undisclosed investor. —Lawrence Aragon
