Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, TVM Capital and Quaker Partners also participated in the round. And, Dr. Mark Braganza, principal at TPG Biotech and Dr. David Hirsch, managing director at Longitude Capital, join Rapid Micro Biosystems' board of directors. Based in Bedford, Massachusetts, Rapid Micro Biosystems is a provider of quality control solutions in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Metacloud said on Wednesday that it has received $10 million in Series A funding. The lead investor was Canaan Partners. Existing investors Storm Ventures and AME Cloud Ventures also participated in the round. Based in Pasadena, Calif., Metacloud is a provider of cloud solutions.
NuMedii said on Wednesday that it has closed $3.5 million in Series A funding. Claremont Creek Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners were the lead investors. Life Science Angels also participated in the round. Also, Dr. Ted Driscoll and Dr. Brad Webb, partners at Claremont Creek Ventures, join NuMedii's board of directors. Based in Menlo Park, Calif., NuMedii searches public data to discover new drugs.
Bizo said on Tuesday that it has received $12.5 million in venture debt financing from City National Bank. According to Bizo, the funding will help the company continue its growth and expand its platform. Headquartered in San Francisco, Calif., Bizo is a business marketing platform.
Decision Pace, which is part of Z80 Labs, a Buffalo, NY-based internet-focused technology incubator, has received $1 million in funding. Richmond Capital Partners, Z80 Labs and various angel investors participated in the round. The funding will be used for market expansion. Decision Pace is a business intelligence platform.
Kony Solutions said on Tuesday that it has closed $18.3 million in Series D financing from Telstra Ventures. According to Kony, the funding will be used to expand the company's presence in both the U.S. and Asia Pacific markets. Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, Kony is a provider of mobile and multichannel application platforms.
Artisan Mobile said on Tuesday that it has secured $5.5 million in Series A financing. FirstMark Capital led the round. According to Artisan Mobile, the funding will be used to broaden its sales and marketing efforts as well as facilitate product development. Based in Philadelphia, Artisan Mobile is a business mobile platform provider.
Biba Systems said on Tuesday that it has raised $15 million in Series B funding. The lead investor was InterWest Partners. Previous investors Benchmark Capital and Trinity Ventures also participated in the round. Other investors include Enrique Salem, former CEO of Symantec and Gary Griffiths, CEO of Trapit. Headquartered in San Francisco, Calif., Biba is a maker of a business communications app.
TopLine Game Labs said on Tuesday that it has launched as a company and received a $25 million investment from Cantor Ventures, the venture capital division of Cantor Fitzgerald. David Geller, former head of fantasy sports at Yahoo!, is leading the new company. Based in Los Angeles, TopLine Game Labs is a provider of fantasy sports and social gaming technology.
PeakColo said on Tuesday that it has closed a $3 million loan from Square 1 Bank, a banking partner to entrepreneurs and the venture capital community. The financing will be used for market expansion and growth. PeakColo is a provider of cloud solutions.
