Upfront Ventures announced it is raising a sixth fund targeted at $380 million and a second opportunity fund targeted at $120 million, according to two separate regulatory filings. The Santa Monica, California-based firm raised $280 million for its fifth fund in 2014, according to Thomson Reuters. Upfront is led by Mark Suster and Yves Sisteron and invests in such fields as SaaS, digital media, and food and agriculture, according to its website. Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin’s B Capital Fund has held a second close of $181 million, according to a regulatory filing. B Capital Group has offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Singapore, and was founded by Rajarshi Ganguly and Saverin, who moved to Singapore in 2011. It invests in financial services, healthcare, and transportation industries worldwide, according to its website. The fund closed an initial $143.6 million a year ago. So far, 29 investors have committed to the fund, which does not list a target amount.
