Battery promotes three to principal

• Gleklen joined Battery in 2015, Joyce in 2016 and Rosner in 2014
• Gleklen is based in New York, Joyce is in San Francisco and Rosner is in Boston
• Firm also hired Kristen Manning as a human resources partner

Battery Ventures has promoted Brandon Gleklen, Dillon Joyce and Justin Rosner to principal. Gleklen joined Battery in 2015, Joyce came on board in 2016 and Rosner joined 2014.

Gleklen focuses on early- and growth-stage investments in business-software and consumer-tech companies, while Joyce and Rosner specialize in later-stage deals.

Glekle is based in New York, Joyce is in San Francisco and Rosner is in Boston.

This announcement comes on the heels of Battery closing new funds totaling $3.8 billion.

Separately, Battery promoted Dawit Workie to vice president and elevated four others to the role of associate: George Christopher in Boston, Olivia Henkoff and Peter Winans in New York, and Juliette Silvain in London.

“We’re extremely excited to once again promote rising investment-team talent from within our firm,” Battery General Partner Neeraj Agrawal said in a statement. “Brandon, Dillon, Justin and Dawit have distinguished themselves over the years by sourcing promising investments and working closely with our founders and management teams to help companies scale—these days, in a very unpredictable market.”

Also, Battery has hired Kristen Manning as a human resources partner. Previously, Manning served as the chief people officer at Fiduciary Trust Co and head of human resources at Arrowstreet Capital.

Founded in 1983, Battery backs companies at all stages, ranging from seed and early to growth and buyout, and invests globally from offices in Boston, San Francisco, Menlo Park, New York, London and Tel Aviv.
