Battery Ventures has promoted Danel Dayan and Max-Julian Kaye to principal.
Dayan, based in Menlo Park, joined the firm in 2019, and Kaye, based in Boston, came on board in 2014. Dayan focuses on early-stage and growth-equity investments in areas such as cloud infrastructure, data/AI, cybersecurity, developer tools and next-generation, enterprise applications. Kaye focuses on growth equity and private equity investments in enterprise software as well as industrial technology and life-science tools.
Separately, Battery promoted Becca Jones to vice president and named Jack Mattei, Isabel von Stauffenberg and Katie Solarz as associates.

Battery is currently investing out of Battery Ventures XIV, which closed on $3.3 billion in July 2022. LPs in the fund include Alaska Permanent Fund, Alaska Retirement Management Board, New Mexico Educational Retirement Board, San Francisco Employees’ Retirement System and Ventura County Employees Retirement Association, according to Venture Capital Journal research.
