Bison co-founder Nugent joins fintech-focused Vestigo

Former Bison Chief Executive Mike Nugent has joined Vestigo Ventures as managing director, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Nugent, who co-founded Bison in 2011 to provide data on alternative assets, left the company at the end of August, according to LinkedIn and as VCJ previously reported.

Why Nugent left is unclear. He was traveling and was not immediately available for comment in regards to Vestigo, of Cambridge, Massachusetts.

IR professionals use the Bison software platform to identify potential investors, benchmark fund performance, track portfolio cash flows and net asset values, and find out which other funds are in the market.

At Vestigo, Nugent joins co-founder and Managing Director Ian Sheridan and General Partner Dave Blundin. The firm, which launched in April, focuses on the fintech sector and is aiming to make early-stage bets in 15 to 20 companies with its inaugural fund.

Vestigo Ventures Fund I is targeted to raise $50 million to $75 million, according to its website. No portfolio companies are listed on the website. And Vestigo does not appear to have made any investments yet.

Previously, Nugent headed up due diligence at fund-of-funds manager SVG Advisers for 4 1/2 years.
