Black Duck Software Adds Bogan as Chairman

Burlington, Mass.-based Black Duck Software has named Thomas F. Bogan chairman of its board. Bogan also serves as chairperson of the board for Citrix Systems, where he has been a director since 2003. Black Duck has previously raised capital from investors including General Catalyst Partners, Fidelity Ventures, Flagship Ventures, Focus Ventures, Intel Capital, SAP Ventures and Red Hat.

Black Duck Software, the leader in open source software knowledge, adoption and governance, today announced Thomas F. Bogan has joined the company’s Board of Directors as Chairman, effective immediately.

Bogan joins Black Duck board members Rob Bearden, CEO of Hortonworks; Larry Bohn, Managing Director, General Catalyst Partners; Andy Flaster, Founding Member, Volition Capital; Jim Matheson, General Partner, Flagship Ventures, and Tim Yeaton, Black Duck CEO and President.

Bogan also serves as Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Citrix Systems, where he has been a director since 2003. Prior to joining the Citrix board Bogan held executive management positions at Rational Software Corporation from 1997-2003, serving as President and Chief Operating Officer from 2000 to 2003. Rational was acquired by IBM in 2003. He has been a Partner at Graylock Partners, a venture capital firm, since 2004.
