Cisco on Tuesday announced its intent to buy cloud management startup CliQr Technologies Inc for $260 million. Santa Clara-based CliQr makes software that allows companies to interoperate between private, public and hybrid cloud environments. In an April blog post, the company said it had raised $38 million to date from backers including Polaris Partners, Foundation Capital, Google Ventures and TransLink Capital. The company was founded in 2010 by two former VMWare executives.
Foundation General Partner Warren Weiss also wrote a blog post about the acquisition.
