DCVC promotes Slaybaugh to partner

DCVC has promoted Rachel Slaybaugh to partner, according to an announcement on the firm’s site. She joined the venture capital firm in early 2022 as a principal.

Most recently, Slaybaugh served as a tenured associate professor of nuclear engineering at UC Berkeley. She also was program director at the U.S. Department of Energy’s ARPA-E, where she created the nuclear fission program.

Based in Palo Alto and San Francisco, DCVC invests in deep tech.

The venture firm was founded in 2011.
