Eight Roads Ventures Europe has promoted Lucile Cornet to partner. Cornet joined the Europe and Israel-focused venture firm in 2015.
21 January 2021, London: Eight Roads Ventures Europe, a venture capital firm focused on Europe and Israel, today announced it has promoted Lucile Cornet to Partner. Eight Roads Ventures is a global investment firm backed by Fidelity with over $6 billion assets under management globally.
Lucile is focused on software and fintech sectors and has led a number of investments for Eight Roads Ventures, including Spendesk, the Paris-based spend management platform;
Thinksurance, the Frankfurt-based B2B insurtech; and Compte-Nickel, one of the first European neobanks which was successfully acquired by BNP Paribas in 2017 in what is still amongst the largest fintech exits in Europe. She is also involved with the boards of VIU Eyewear, OTA Insight and Fuse Universal.
Born in Toulouse, France, Lucile has built her career from investment banking, to Summit Partners, and joined Eight Roads Ventures in 2015. Lucile has proven to be a prolific sourcer and is able to build strong empathy with founders. Featured as a rising star at the GP Bullhound Investor of the Year Awards in 2020 and regular panelist at industry conferences such as VivaTech and South Summit, she thrives off networking and meeting entrepreneurs. Lucile even managed to source her own job at Eight Roads – she emailed the firm on LinkedIn for an opportunity to work with the team and joined as an Associate.
Mrs Cornet’s promotion is also a validation of Eight Roads Ventures Europe talent strategy of developing talent from within, having made Associate to Partner transition in only five years.
Davor Hebel, Managing Partner at Eight Roads Ventures Europe, said “We are delighted with Lucile’s success so far at Eight Roads. She has made a huge impact in Europe and globally since joining the firm. She has tremendous work ethic and drive to identify the best European companies and help them scale into global winners. Her promotion also speaks to our desire to continue to develop our best investment talent and promote from within.”
Lucile Cornet, Partner at Eight Roads Ventures Europe, commented “I am hugely optimistic about what is to come for European technology entrepreneurs. We are seeing more and more amazing founders and innovative businesses across the whole European region with ambitions and abilities to become global champions and I look forward to helping them scale up.”
