Former Dropbox CFO Ajay Vashee joins IVP

Ajay Vashee, a onetime investor with NEA, will make growth-stage investments at IVP, with an initial focus on SaaS, collaboration software and subscription businesses.

Growth-stage investor IVP, which is currently seeking to raise its 17th fund, announced that Ajay Vashee has joined the firm as general partner. Vashee was most recently CFO with Dropbox, which he helped to take public in a 2018 IPO. Dropbox was an IVP portfolio company.

Vashee was with Dropbox for eight years before stepping down in the fall. He told Venture Capital Journal that he will begin working with IVP in January and for the time being is enjoying time at his Burlingame, California, home with his wife and two daughters, ages one and four.

Prior to joining Dropbox in 2012, Vashee was with New Enterprise Associates, where he worked on venture and growth-stage enterprise, consumer, and energy investments. At IVP, his initial focus will be on on SaaS, collaboration software, and subscription businesses. Vashee said other markets he is interested in are collaboration software, the distributed workforce and finance automation.

Vashee is also an angle investor, having backed at least three start-ups, including Metronome, Mosaic and Layer.
