Foundry Backs Pogoplug Maker

Quietly this morning, Ryan McIntyre, managing director of the Foundry Group, announced that the firm invested in Cloud Engines, maker of the Pogoplug network-attached storage adpater.

Details of the financing are scant, but McIntyre confirmed that Foundry is the sole investor in the company’s Series A round. The funding amount is undisclosed. Prior to Foundry jumping in, Cloud Engines was angel-backed, said McIntyre, who has joined the board of the company.

Announced at the CES in January, Pogoplug connects a USB hard drive or flash stick to your home computer, allowing you to retrieve files from home while you’re on the road.

McIntyre talks more about the company in his blog post.
