Born: September 21, 1958 in Orange County, CA

Education: BSEE from UCLA; MBA from Harvard Business School.

Career Path: Gary Little joined Morgenthaler as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence in August 1997 and became a General Partner in April 1998. He came to the firm from Apple Computer where he most recently served as Sr. Vice President and General Manager of the $3 billion Power Macintosh division. Previously, Gary spent seven years at Sun Microsystems where he was most recently Director of Product Marketing for the Solaris Products Division, Sun’s largest software division. He also served as Director of Marketing for Sun’s Intercontinental division, which included a 2 year posting in Hong Kong. Gary also was an Associate with Venrock Associates, and held sales and marketing positions at IBM. He began his career as an IC design engineer for TRW’s microelectronics research labs.

Venture Focus: Communications, Systems and Software

Investments: NexTag.com, KnowledgeNet, Chameleon systems, Innovance Networks and TimesTen Performance Software.

Greatest Accomplishment: As GM of Apple’s PowerMac Division, rationalized Apple’s product line so that it could more accurately respond to changes in demand and greatly improve operational efficiencies.

Biggest Mistake: Passing on deals like Epiphany and Vitria.
