Two Bear Capital, a VC firm founded by former Sequoia Capital partner Mike Goguen, has named Cris Neckar as a venture partner and KC Cramer as vice-president of human resources.
Neckar will focus on opportunities related to information security and machine learning and AI, while Cramer will be responsible for human resources at the Montana-based firm.


“Cris Neckar brings a wealth of expertise in cybersecurity and technology to our investment team. His perspective adds power to our investment thesis in technologies that are changing whole industries today,” Two Bear general partner Seth Strattan said in a statement. “KC Cramer is leading the critical growth of our team and sharing her valuable expertise with our expanding portfolio.”
Neckar was one of the original members of Google’s Chrome security team, managing the security of the Chrome web browser and developing state-of-the-art advancements in software security and end-user defense. He also led the application security practice for Neohapsis.


Most recently, Cramer served as vice-president of people at Flare. Prior to this role, she was vice-president of people at Puls. She also held positions at Sightglass, Humble Bundle, SysIQ, Metabiota and GT Nexus.
Two Bear Capital was founded in 2019 by Goguen, who was previously a partner at Sequoia for 20 years. It invests in biotechnology, bioinformatics, healthcare IT, machine learning and AI, and information security. In addition to its home office in White Fish, Two Bear has offices in Menlo Park, California; New York; and Boston.
The firm has not disclosed its assets under management. It has made three Reg D filings for fundraising, all for undisclosed amounts. It filed Reg Ds for Two Bear Capital Fund I in October 2021, Two Bear Capital SPV in November 2022 and Two Bear Capital SPV II in March 2023.
